These meetings are the heart of our group. They
open with fellowship from 6:30-7:00, prayer, then announcements from
leaders and volunteers, typically followed followed by a guest
speaker presentation with questions and answers, finishing with an
opportunity for homeschoolers to encourage one another and share
ideas.
Doors are locked by 9pm. Limited childcare is available on site.
Standardized Testing - KMC homeschoolers with a bachelors degree or
state teachers certification administer the IOWA Basic standardized
tests for grades 3 through 12 usually in May.
(Stanford Achievement may be administered as well). Administration
includes collecting test fees, ordering tests, arranging for a test
location, proctoring tests, submitting answer sheets and booklets,
receiving and distributing test results. See how well your children
are learning..
KMC-CHE Yahoo Group - Keep up
to date with the email loop, calendar, resources, member directory,
and much more. (link to KMC-CHE Yahoo group )
Convention - In years 2000 - 2006 and 2008, KMC Christian Home
Educators, has sponsored two-day conventions with workshops and
seminars for adults and children. Keynote speakers have included
Chris Klicka, Home School Legal Defense Association, Sharon and
Dennis Grimes, Steve and Teri Maxwell, "Little Bear" Wheeler, and
Mark Hamby from Lamplighter Publishing and Cornerstone Ministries.
Participants could also buy and sell new and used curriculum and
other homeschool aids. We're currently planning a conference for
2010. Details will be provided here as it approaches.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant and infallible
Word of God.
We believe that there is one living and true God; an infinite,
intelligent Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence
but eternally subsistent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
We believe in the fall of man, totally unable to justify himself
before God.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the express image of the invisible
God - He is God and He became man, yet without sin, was born of the
Virgin Mary, crucified on the cross as a substitute for sin, arose
from the dead and ascended into heaven. Jesus will return again
personally and gloriously.
